Great With Kids – Pediatric Dentist

Cynthia M
Patient

I love her calm demeanor. She is great with the kids, as is everyone in the office. When my son needed extensive work at a young age I was pretty upset that I did not see the issues. Not only is she great with the kids, but great with me, an upset worried parent as well. I will never forget her leaving the dentist room to see me in the waiting room to make sure I was doing well. I am beyond happy with her practice.

Dr. Himelhoch has a special interest in helping adults and adolescents — as well as children — reach their fullest functional and cosmetic results. Our primary concern is your care and comfort.

We use a variety of technologies to help shorten treatment time, improve cosmetics during treatment, and help you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. These technologies include self-ligating brackets, IQ indirect bracket placement, “cosmetic” brackets, and clear aligners, including Invisalign® and Invisalign Teen®.

What is a Board Certified Orthodontist?

In addition to being a board certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Himelhoch is also a board certified orthodontist. An orthodontist is a specialist within the field of dentistry. The primary concern of an orthodontist is with fixing improper bites, or malocclusions. Some common types of malocclusions include overbites, underbites, and crossbites. Dr. Himelhoch treats all types of orthodontic conditions for the residents of Framingham, Southborough, Ashland, Wayland, Natick, Marlborough, Hopkinton, and the surrounding area.

In order to become an orthodontist, a dentist must not only complete a graduate program in dentistry, but also complete an additional 2-3 years of training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. After completion of this program, an orthodontist can achieve board certification, by passing a written examination given by the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). This voluntary process of becoming board certified displays an orthodontist dedication to providing quality care to their patients.
