After enjoying your meal, it’s best to brush or at least rinse your teeth well with water. Wherever possible, it’s also a good time to clean your aligners. 

We recommend carrying a travel-size soft toothbrush to clean your aligners on the go.

Avoid Abrasive Cleaners or Mouthwash

Although it can be tempting, avoid using toothpaste to clean your aligners. Due to its abrasive qualities, toothpaste can scuff up the surface of your aligners or retainer.

Similarly, avoid using denture cleaner or mouthwash to soak your aligners, and never put them in a dishwasher or microwave. 

As an alternative to denture cleaner, you may use a product such as Fresh Guard made for cleaning retainers. Soaking for a few minutes is all that’s required. Then, rinse the aligners and start wearing them again.

Notably, your aligners are designed for temporary use, usually a couple of weeks. So, they are somewhat delicate and should be treated accordingly.
